Step by step, as both a physician and a mother, she accompanied her daughter through every stage of the IVF process.
 
Last month, while Dr. Tsai was in Taipei attending the 2026 Taiwan Society for Reproductive Medicine Annual Conference, welcoming distinguished guests from across the country — an urgent alert came from the delivery room. The baby's heart rate had dropped.
 
She left everything behind and rushed back to Kaohsiung.
 
And with her own hands, she delivered her own grandchild.heart
 
Mother and baby are both safe and well. The little one came into the world wide-eyed and curious, looking around at everything — just like his mother did when she was born.
 
In that moment, Dr. Tsai was a doctor. And a grandmother.
