Teaming up with the Center for Genomic Medicine at National Cheng Kung University, MedGene delivers accurate and comforting services

An important update for expecting mothers!
Commencing on February 9, 2024, all genetic testing labs in the country are required to secure LDTS (Laboratory Developed Test Service) certification from the Ministry of Health and Welfare to offer genetic testing services.

Next-generation gene sequencing (NGS) is an efficient method capable of simultaneously detecting multiple genes with minimal sample amounts. NGS technology finds widespread application in both prenatal and postnatal examinations, yet controversy persists surrounding genetic testing products in the market.

To ensure the precision of testing quality, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has taken decisive action. Amended regulations mandate that all laboratories seek LDTS certification. In layman's terms, LDTS denotes laboratory-developed technology, and without certification, testing cannot proceed.

Partnering with the Center for Genomic Medicine at National Cheng Kung University,  MedGene provides precise and reassuring genetic services. The Center for Genomic Medicine at National Cheng Kung University is the pioneer in Taiwan as the first LDTS-certified maternal-fetal genetic testing laboratory.
